The fallout from last month’s bus hijacking in the Philippines continued with the retirement of the Philippines national police chief on Sunday (September 5). In his statement, police chief Jesus Verzosa took responsibility for the botched rescue attempt — broadcast live around the world — that left eight tourists from Hong Kong dead.
